Many of us suffer from a new type of ailment, sitting disease. Even those people who hit the gym a few times each week can experience the negative health effects brought on by being sedentary for long periods of time.

Incorporating little bits of exercise into our daily routines is surprisingly easy, but it takes a significant mental shift. Our approach starts with relating to people’s own circumstances, addressing their barriers, and nudge them towards small steps. Everyone’s reality and ability is different, it’s essential to start with attainable, sustainable goals.

Make Your Day Harder included a whiteboard video, website, and social media campaign working in unison. We encouraged people to join the movement and share how they would #MakeYourDayHarder through social media.

The campaign was highly successful by every measure. There were over 5,700 tweets from over 3,000 contributors with #MakeYourDayHarder, reaching a total audience of 4.7 million people with 14.7 million impressions. This included support from MaRS, Women’s College Hospital, UofT Medicine, Minister Eric Hoskins, Andre Picard, CBC and CTV.

Give it a try, think you can Make Your Day Harder?
